We're planning on having a gothic wedding in June. We're actually renewing our vows since we ran away the first time. Anyway, our colors are black and blood red. We don't have matching outfits for the wedding party, but we thought that would be unique. We're planning on having a potluck for the reception. Most people we've invited said they don't mind, so that's good. Our cake is going to be a single layer, but we're having it in the shape of a coffin, with the inside being a dark cherry fruit filling. It's going to be a small wedding, so we're having it in our back yard, which is big enough to hold everyone. I have handmade the invitations, and am currently working on the programs. We actually have our minister applying our makeup, because he's won awards for that before. And we'll have 2 photographers, so I can choose the best shots. If anyone has any other ideas for me, please let me know! I really think this is going to be fun! Oh yah, and I will be carried down the aisle in a coffin.

We actually had one couple tell me that they can't make it to the ceremony, because having a coffin being carried down the aisle is just to morbid. But I've seen pictures of it done before and we think it'd be fun. And unique! Like I told them, we've been married 20 years, so this renewal is for fun! If they don't want to be there and support me, then they don't have to! I have plenty of other people who said they think it's a great idea. Guess it's their loss, not mine! Guess I know who my real friends are too!

I think it's a shame your friends backed out. I can understand why it's upsetting BUT I'm assumiing they know you and love you as you are:) As for ideas...how about Day of the Dead mexican sugar skull candies? I think the potluck is a great idea. You can google Martha Stewart halloween ideas. She has tons of cookie recipies and DIY decor that would work while still being elegant and NOT halloween lame. Bone cookies, things like that. Hope that helps. It's great that your minister is cool with this. I can't even get mine to agree to the wedding march and your's is doing your makeup. Nice!

Awesome drinking mugs, my own designs, unique and nt for the faint of heart!  Great satin black glaze.  Done cups for whole wedding parties.  Just look.
